The Context
BONNER’s pharmaceutical client required comprehensive calibration of critical instrumentation to ensure compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency. The project focused on establishing reliable measurement standards across their facility, supporting both regulatory requirements and production quality in a highly controlled and time-sensitive environment.
The client needed precise calibration of process and laboratory instruments, including temperature, pressure, and flow devices. They required full compliance with regulatory standards, minimal disruption to operations, and detailed documentation to support audits and quality assurance processes.
What We Did
We delivered a full-scope calibration service tailored to the client’s pharmaceutical environment. This included identification of all critical instrumentation and define calibration intervals based on risk and usage. Our team developed a detailed calibration plan aligned with regulatory standards and the client’s internal quality procedures.
We calibrated a wide range of instruments, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, transmitters, and flow meters, using certified reference equipment that are traceable. All work was performed under controlled conditions to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
In addition, we implemented a digital calibration management system to track instrument status, generate certificates, and maintain audit-ready records.
The project commenced in January 2026. During this period, we worked closely with the client to understand their operational requirements, production schedules, and compliance obligations. This allowed us to develop a phased calibration plan that minimised disruption to their activities.
Initially, the primary calibration work was carried out. Our team operated in scheduled windows to avoid interference with critical production processes. Priority was given to high-risk and high-impact instruments to ensure early compliance.
We then completed final validations, documentation, and system integration. This included delivering calibration certificates, updating the asset management system, and conducting final reviews with the client’s quality team.
The client selected us due to concerns with their previous service provider, who appeared to use the contract as an opportunity to train new employees rather than deliver consistent, high-quality service. This led to variability in results and reduced confidence.
In contrast, we demonstrated a highly experienced team, a strong track record in regulated environments, and a commitment to quality and accountability. Our emphasis on expertise, consistency, and clear communication gave the client confidence in our ability to meet their standards
The BONNER Service Manager carried out a site meeting with Head of Engineering and Quality to outline BONNER’s capabilities and standards.
Once the Proposal was approved the project was delivered by our Cork-based calibration team, consisting of experienced and technical specialists. The team included coordinated timelines, client communication, and regulatory alignment.
Calibrations were carried out on-site, bringing expertise in pharmaceutical standards and precision measurement. The team ensured all instruments were calibrated accurately and in compliance with industry requirements.
Supporting them with certification and system integration, the role was critical in ensuring that all records met audit standards and were fully traceable.
The team worked collaboratively with the client’s quality assurance and engineering departments, maintaining clear communication throughout the project. This close cooperation ensured that all objectives were met efficiently and to the highest standard.
