Learning and Development: Students Can Gain Valuable Experience as Part of TU Dublin Programme

In partnership with Technological University Dublin, we’re delighted to have student Sean Carr Walsh with us on work experience as part of the Process Instrumentation and Automation course.

The ‘Learn and Work’ programme offers four days of practical work experience alongside one day in college per week between March and September. This schedule is designed to help students to be work-ready in the shortest possible time-frame, delivering skilled graduates into STEM industries.

The Process Instrumentation and Automation course teaches measurement and control of physical quantities used in advanced manufacturing systems including temperature, level, pressure and flow. Engineers apply instrumentation and control systems to monitor and regulate processes, enhancing production efficiency, product quality and safety across manufacturing facilities in diverse industries.

As industry partner mentors to TU Dublin, BONNER offers relevant experience and real-life skills in order to set students up for a career in instrumentation, automation and manufacturing.

After successfully providing placements and ‘learning on the job’ in previous years, it’s great to once again be considered a positive workplace for a student to start a career journey.

Sean’s current experience is a great example of the opportunities available for students and graduates at BONNER. Through collaboration with academic facilities across Ireland, we’re pleased to be creating placements to fast-track students into a career in a field they are passionate about.
